Beyond the Spotlight w/ Sage Bleiler

Sage Bleiler is competing in her senior season at Breckenridge High School.

What sport(s) and position(s) do you play and how many years have you been on the Varsity team?

Volleyball, I play right side and back row, I have been on varsity for 2 years. Basketball, I play a wing and have been on varsity for 1 year. Softball, I play right field and I have been on varsity for 2 years.

List any academic or athletic achievements you have earned during high school career (i.e. honor roll, all-conference, student council, all-state, etc.)

Honor roll, class office, all academic for volleyball, basketball, and softball, homecoming rep for junior year, NHS, FFA, etc.

What do you enjoy most about competing in high school sports?

The people I play with.

What is your best memory from HS sports so far, and why is it meaningful to you?

Beating farewell in volleyball 34-32 last year. It was meaningful because the team never gave up anything and worked really hard to win.

What are you looking forward to most this upcoming season?

To play a lot of tournaments and try to beat Merrill one last time my senior year.

What’s your go to pre-game/contest meal? Where do you get it from?

A sub with ham, pickles, and mayo from subway

Who is your team’s biggest rival? What makes that rivalry special or different from the other teams you’ll face this season?

Merrill because we always have close games with them and work really hard to try to beat them every year.

What is one personal and one team goal that you have for this upcoming season?

My personal goal is to get almost everything over the net and not get down on myself. The team goal is to be conference champs.

If you could go back in time and give yourself one piece of advice as a Freshman, what you would it be?

The advice I would give myself is always work hard because in the end it will pay off.
