The week 8 volleyball standings in the TVC are finalized, and there two teams remain undefeated in conference play!
In the East, Birch Run traveled to Alma (2-4) and defeated the Panthers in three games to improve their overall conference leading record to 6-0. Birch Run will be traveling to Frankenmuth (3-3), where they will face off with their rival hoping to complete an undefeated TVC campaign and secure sole-possession of the regular season title. The Eagles will look to play the spoiler on Wednesday evening at home, and gain some momentum heading into district play, and Beyond the Lights will be there to cover the action!
Freeland (5-1) holds on to sole possession of second place in the east, and will be rooting for Frankenmuth, who the Falcons just defeated at home in four games, to hand the Panthers their first conference loss of the year.
In the West, Valley Lutheran earned their position at the top of the table by taking on previously undefeated Nouvel (7-1) on the road in an intense, rowdy environment. The Chargers walked off the floor in sole possession of first place, and remain an undefeated 8-0 in conference play. Valley will host Millington (7-1) Wednesday evening in another monster game, with their sights set on completing a perfect conference run in 2019.
Millington finds themselves in position to fight for a conference regular season title when they travel to Saginaw this coming week. The Cardinals took care of St. Louis (2-6) in four games, and now have sights set on handing Valley Lutheran their first conference loss of the season.
Nouvel sits tied for second now, and will be facing Carrollton (0-8) on the road. The Panthers will look to regain their edge as tournament time approaches and should be rooting for Millington to cause a little chaos on the road…potentially setting up a three-way tie for the regular season championship.
